New details emerging in the case of a jail guard at the Saint John Regional Correctional Centre facing drug-related charges.
The SJPD say nearly 28 grams of marijuana was seized when 49-year-old Joel Dion Thomas was arrested. During a search at his home in the south end of the city, 72 grams of marijuana was seized along with a quantity of cash. The combined street value of the pot is about $2000.
Thomas making a court appearance to answer to a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana and possession of the proceeds of crime and was remanded without plea. He’ll be back in court on Monday afternoon for a bail hearing.
