Riverview Man Accused Of Writing “Kill Cops” in Sidewalk Cement Returns To Court In October

An 18-year-old man accused of committing mischief by allegedly writing “Kill Cops” in wet cement in Riverview, will return to court next month.

Nathan Edward Newell was to enter a plea in Moncton court yesterday, but the case was set over until October 27th.

Newell was charged on June 5th for damaging a town sidewalk, just a day after the tragic shooting deaths of three RCMP officers in Northwest Moncton.

Newell is reportedly friends with Jasper John Stam, a Moncton man who admitted in court to uttering threats to kill police officers in May.

Stam was placed on a nine month conditional sentence.
