VIDEO: Honouring Tanya Shand With A Red Silhouette

Over 40 women in the province have died at the hands of their intimate partner.

Tanya Shand was killed last May and her memory will live on through a red wooden silhouette dedicated in her honour at the qplex ceremony in Quispamsis.

Deanna King helped organize a benefit for the Shand family last June and was asked to speak on behalf of the family at the ceremony.

She says it was tough to get the words out especially the remarks about Cheyenne–Tanya’s daughter.

The ceremony also attended by several police officers from the Saint John and K.V. police forces.
