Stonehammer Geopark welcoming 450 international delegates to the Saint John this weekend for the 6th International UNESCO Conference on Global Geoparks. Experts, government officials and researchers will be discussing the economic and social impacts of geoparks.
Common Councillor Bill Farren says it’s a huge event and it’s taken a lot of behind-the-scenes work to put together–as well, the arrival of the delegates will represent a significant boost to our local economy.
Representatives from over 30 countries will be attending. The conference runs until Monday.
