Man Gets New Lawyer In Aggravated Assault/Confinement Case

A 40-year-old Kent County man will elect the mode of his trial on aggravated assault and confinement charges later this month.

David Beaulieu of Saint-Paul returns to court on Sept. 29 after being assigned a new legal aid lawyer in Moncton court today.

Beaulieu has waived his right to a bail hearing and remains in custody.

On August 19, Codiac RCMP found a 34-year-old woman in the back of a van in Dieppe after receiving information about a man driving around with an injured woman.

A woman was hospitalized but her identity is being protected by a publication ban.
