“Pimped up” golf cart surveying Moncton sidewalks

MONCTON, N.B. – Don’t be alarmed if you happen to see a “pimped up” golf cart making the rounds on sidewalks in the City of Moncton.

City engineer Rene Lagace explains the technology from a Montreal-based company will be surveying the 440 km of sidewalks within city limits.

The golf cart is equipped with cameras, GPS and specialized software which can detect various surface defects.

The city expects to have the results of the sidewalk survey by December 1st.
