Be prepared to batten down the hatches because Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the majority of the province.
The weather service says thunderstorms will develop this afternoon over portions of New Brunswick and some of these thunderstorms could become severe meaning strong wind gusts and heavy downpours. They’re reminding you that there’s no safe place outside when a thunderstorm hits and you should stay indoors and away from windows, skylights and doors.
The only areas of the province not under the watch are Campbellton and Restigouche County along with Edmundston and Madawaska County.
