RIVERVIEW, N.B. – The investigation is underway into what caused a fire which heavily damaged a townhouse unit on Suffolk Street in Riverview.
Firefighters were called to the scene around 6-pm last night.
A man and woman and their child who lived in the unit escape unharmed but three cats died.
Riverview Fire Chief Denis Pleau says one unit next door was vacant while residents of the other adjacent unit are already back in their home.
Pleau adds major work will be needed in the fire-damaged unit before anyone can move back in.
The Red Cross has stepped forward to help the family.
