Freight train hits pickup truck in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.B – RCMP say a man has been sent to hospital with serious injuries after his pickup truck was struck by a freight train in Salisbury this afternoon.

The collision took place on the tracks crossing Route 112, the Old Fredericton Road.

Police say there was construction in the area and the truck had been stopped in a traffic line-up on the tracks.

The driver, a man from the Salisbury area, was the only person inside the pickup truck.
