Displaced Tenants Still Looking For Place To Go

More than 40 tenants of a Dieppe apartment building are scrambling to find other places to live after a devastating fire.

The Canadian Red Cross is helping out with food, clothing and motel rooms.

Building superintendent David Beaulieu says the owner may be able to accommodate some of the displaced tenants at other apartment buildings he owns.

“We’ve had tenants here that have been here 16 or 17 years, very good tenants, and we would like to keep them.”

Since no one is allowed inside, Deputy Fire Chief Conrad Landry says firefighters have been able to retrieve some necessities for tenants such as car keys and passports.

The fire is not considered suspicious but a cause has not yet been found.
