Man accused in kidnapping, home invasion faces numerous charges

MONCTON, N.B. – A 21-year-old Moncton man, facing several charges in connection with a home invasion and alleged kidnapping, will remain in custody this weekend.

John Jay Anderson was arrested by RCMP at a home in the Shediac Road area around noon yesterday.

The charges he faces include unlawful confinement, assault, committing a home invasion and breaching a probation order.

RCMP say on Tuesday afternoon, a man broke into a home on McLaughlin Drive and kidnapped an 18-year-old woman against her will.

She was located the same night in the Hildegard Drive area, suffering from minor injuries.

Anderson returns to court for a bail hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
