FREDERICTON, N.B. – The provincial Liberals say they want to increase the number of New Brunswickers who can participate in the annual moose hunt.
Party leader Brian Gallant says increasing the number of licenses would also increase the economic impact of the moose hunt.
The Alward Government recently announced that it was extending moose-hunting season to five days.
Gallant says, if elected on September 22, he would shorten the season back to three days, but increase the pool of licenses awarded by lottery.
The number of additional licenses would be determined based on the results of the 2014 hunt.
