MONCTON, N.B. – Today is the second last chance for Metro Monctonians to catch some FIFA under-20 Women’s World Cup action in their own backyards.
A berth is the semi-final is on the line when Nigeria takes on New Zealand at 5 p.m. at Moncton Stadium.
Venue general manager Stephane Delisle says, with Nigeria coming back to the Hub City, he’s hoping the enthusiasm their fans brought to the stadium will be back again today.
“We were pleasantly surprised, as a host community, to see the amount of excitement and passion…that was created by the Nigerian supporters earlier in the tournament. We’re expecting the same thing is going to happen [today].”
Those hoping to catch today’s action are reminded that there is no public parking at Moncton Stadium or on the U de M campus, but the City of Moncton is now offering free transportation to ticket holders.
Both the park and ride service and Codiac Transpo, which serves University Avenue, will be available to spectators free of charge.
