Man charged in alleged Moncton kidnapping

MONCTON, N.B. – A Fredericton man has been formally charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping incident in Moncton.

Hyper James A’Hern was in Moncton provincial court this morning.

Codiac RCMP arrested the 25-year-old man in Centennial Park around 9:30 Wednesday morning.

At the time of the arrest, he was with a 19-year-old Moncton woman.

Police say the pair used to be in a relationship.

No one was hurt.

A’Hern has been charged with kidnapping while using an air pistol and uttering death threats.

He’s been remanded and will be in court on August 18th.
