uesday’s storm didn’t pack much of a punch, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have a bit of shovelling to do this morning…
Environment Canada Meteorologist Mel Lemmon says, “Most places got between 10 and 15 centimetres. There was one report we saw of about 20 centimetres new Mechanic Settlement.”
Lemmon says the storm tracked a little bit further south than first expected.
Flurries are expected to linger today, but we are expecting an additional four to five centimetres for tonight.
Lemmon says once that pulls through, temperatures are expected to dip, “We are going to get into a cold northwesterly flow that will bring some additional flurries, with cold northwesterly air. Temperatures could dip down to around minus 15 by tomorrow morning. Winds will also pick up and make it feel much colder. We could see windchill values around minus 20.”
That cold snap is expected to last for a few days.
As for future weather systems with snow, Lemmon says they don’t have their eye on anything in the short term, but he doesn’t expect we’ll go very long before we see more snow.
