Alfred “Fred” Dallaire

1929 ~ 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfred “Fred” Dallaire, 97, on Monday, September 14th, 2026, at the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Bouctouche.

Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, on June 24th, 1929, he was the son of the late Abel and the late Eléonore Dallaire (Maillet).

Fred will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Yvette; his daughters: Ginette Arsenault (Thaddée) and Claire Cormier (Jean-Guy) both of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; his sons: Maurice (Ginette), Rhéal (Janice) both of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, and Daniel (Lisa) of Saint-Thomas; his grandchildren: Monica, Annik, Josée, Rémi, Maryse, Mathieu, Émilie, Chanelle, Samuel, Maxime, and Jean-Luc; his great grandchildren: Chloé, Jacob, Mila, Thomas, Kalie, Jax, Ariel, and Noah; his brothers: Laurie of Bouctouche and Roger (Aline) of Waltham, MA; his sister, Jeannette Jaillet of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers: Telex, Gérald, Paul, Yvon, Oscar, Ovila, Donald, and Normand.

Alfred was a devoted family man and loving father. Having grown up on a farm, he continued along that path throughout his life. Many will remember him as a hardworking, honest, and kind man with a very big heart. He gave freely, never expecting anything in return. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved telling jokes, often bringing laughter to those around him.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste for the excellent care they provided, as well as his attending physicians and the staff of Passage Funeral Co-operative.

Visitations will be held at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel RC Church (2350 Route 515, Ste-Marie-de-Kent) in the slumber room, on Thursday, September 17th, 2026, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will take place in the church on Friday, September 18th, 2026, at 11:00am, followed by interment at the parish cemetery.

Donations in Fred’s memory can be made to the Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Parish.
