February 21, 1932 – September 9, 2026
It is with deep sadness that the family of Madge (Coyle) Lund announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Moncton Hospital. Madge was born in Sussex, NB, daughter of the late Francis and Jean Coyle.
Mom was gentle and kind-hearted. She was genuine and gracious to all.
In her younger years, Mom liked to swim, skate and attend activities and dances at CYO (Catholic Youth Organization).
After attending business college, Mom worked as a bookkeeper until she married Bazil and they started their family. Her quiet demeanor was complimented by Dad’s more outgoing personality. Together, they made a great team, and we couldn’t have asked for better parents or a happier home.
Mom was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, a member of the Catholic Women’s League and the church choir, and taught catechism with Dad over the years. Family was at the centre of everything. Mom enjoyed family dinners and summer trips to PEI, even though you never knew what type of accommodations you were getting in those days! Mom passed along her love of Christmas to all of us, leaving many happy memories. Mom logged a lot of miles over the years bringing us to sporting events and other activities. She had a lot of energy, even travelling well into her mid eighties to watch her grandchildren participate in sports. In her later years, Mom enjoyed reading, watching television, listening to music and a HOT cup of tea.
Mom will be missed by her daughters Pamela, Donna (late Doug MacFadyen), Kathleen Oke (George), Elizabeth Smith (Richard), sons Gregory (Francine), David, Grant (Tammy), Paul, and Stuart (Jennifer) as well as grandchildren Stephen (Jodi), Christine (Thomas), Brett (Janelle), Katie (Bradley), Sam, Alexa (Reed), Olivia, Patrick, Andrea (Philip), Cassandra, Joseph and great grandchildren Annabelle, Roselyn and Cameron. She is survived by sister Judith MacPherson, brothers Barry, Neil and Rae (Valerie) Coyle, sister-in-law Sheila Lund and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of sixty two years, Bazil, sister Maureen, and brothers Gregory, Harold, Freddie and Bryce Coyle.
The family would like to thank Dr. James and Debbie Stewart for the wonderful care they provided to Mom over the years, as well as the staff at the Moncton Hospital (Acute Care and Fourth Floor) and Ambulance New Brunswick, for their kindness and compassion.
Arrangements under the professional care and guidance of Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Road, (858-1995), Moncton. There will be no visitation. A private family mass has been scheduled. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
In Mom’s memory, please make time for the people you love.
