Raymonde Mary Claudette Bishop

1952 – 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Raymonde Mary Claudette Bishop of Riverview passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, at The Moncton Hospital after a lengthy battle with MS. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Cecile (Landry) Berthe.

Claudette worked for the federal government with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and CEIC during her career. She enjoyed being active and was a member of the Moncton Dart Club Ladies League. She also enjoyed bowling for many years with her coworkers in the CEIC Bowling League. One of the special joys in her life was her three-legged therapy dog, “Hope,” whom she trained herself through Saint John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.  They both went to Nursing Homes providing comfort and support to the elderly. Claudette took great pride in Hope and the bond they shared. She really loved her dogs dearly.

Claudette will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 37 years, Russell, who was by her side throughout her battle with MS.

She will also be loved and remembered by her beloved and cherished granddaughter, Serenah “Dolly,” who was the light of her life and was especially dear to her, her son

Chris Horsman, her nephew, Kyle, niece, Krista, brother-in-law, Charlie (Tammy) Bishop, her granddaughter’s mother, Mellisa Brown and dear friends, Nancy, Maggie, and Muriel.  As well as many out of town relatives.

A special thank you is extended to Dr. Brian Davidson, family doctor for over 30 years, the staff of the Moncton Hospital, especially the MSICU and the many Extra Mural nurses from the Driscoll Unit.  The caregivers who supported Claudette throughout her illness and became like a second family to her: Kelly, Emily, Courtney, Katerina and Katrina.

A service in celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (506-869-2007).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, PAW (formerly Moncton SPCA), or a charity of the donor’s choice.
