The Agricultural Alliance of New Brunswick aims to address workforce shortages in the agro-food industry through a new website.
As the demand for skilled workers continues to grow, the alliance launched a workforce development site last week.
According to the alliance in a press release, the site provides a single destination where users can access workforce resources, explore career opportunities, connect with employers, and learn about programs that support “the long-term growth of the province’s agricultural industry.”
The website also includes a variety of resources for employers, including a recruitment service program that helps agri-food employers find workers already living in Canada, and an employers’ resources tab where they can find practical tools and information on recruitment, workforce planning, funding opportunities, among others.
AANB said the platform reflects on its ongoing commitment to strengthening the province’s agri-food workforce by improving access to information, supporting recruitment efforts, promoting careers in agriculture, and creating stronger connections between employers and individuals looking to build a future in the industry.
Alliance president Danielle Connell said in the release that as workforce challenges evolve, it is more important than ever that employers, job seekers and students have access to information and resources.
“People are the heart of every successful farm and agri-food business,” she added.
The site also features a “What’s Happening” section, providing visitors with current news, upcoming events, workforce initiatives, and announcements from organizations and partners supporting New Brunswick’s agri-food industry.
AANB said the website was made possible with ongoing support from the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries, and the Department of Post-Secondary Education and Labour.
Job seekers, students, educators, and industry partners are encouraged to explore the platform and discover the resources, programs, and opportunities available.
The website can be found at workforce.fermenbfarm.ca.
