Cocagne, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Florine Cormier, aged 103, on August 6, 2026, at Moncton City Hospital in Moncton, NB.
Born in Cocagne, NB, on January 6, 1923, she was the beloved wife of the late Emile Cormier (2000) and the daughter of the late Louis Allain and the late Adèle Allain (née Roy).
Florine will be sadly missed by her children: Léo-Paul (Jeannita) Cormier, Louis-Emile (Marie-Louise) Cormier, Huberte (Jacky) Audoux, and Jean-Charles Cormier all of Cocagne, Alvin (Suzanne) of Brantford, ON; Corinne Gallant (late Adrien), Annette Allain (late Claude) both of Moncton; and Anise Cormier of Monteagle (Moncton); her daughter-in-law, Denise Cormier (late Raoul) of Cocagne; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her husband and parents, Florine was predeceased by her son, Raoul; her sisters: Marguerite and Hélène; and her brothers: Denis, Félix, and Hypolite.
Florine worked at the Bayview Restaurant, where she became well known for her delicious homemade pies. She also ran the Breau Village Store, co-owner of “Florina Beach” and enjoyed playing cards (200), especially with family and friends.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Hubert Dupuis, Le Phare des Services Communautaires of Bouctouche, and the Extra-Mural Program for the services and compassionate care provided to Florine.
In memory of Florine, donations may be made to École Blanche-Bourgeois in Cocagne, for children in need or at the donor’s choice.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Passage Shediac Bridge, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB E4R 1T3, (506) 532-1050.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint-Pierre Church in Cocagne on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
