The excitement over this week’s solar eclipse is passing.
Millions witnessed their first ever solar eclipse, but if you were one of those who missed it. Emma MacPhee of the New Brunswick branch of the Royal Astronomy Society of Canada says it is something that only happens once or twice in your lifetime, but you will get another opportunity to see one in around 7 years, “Luckily enough, it is going to happen in 2024, right here over New Brunswick, in the month of April. We’re getting ready for the next one. This week was sort of just a practice run.”
Prior to this week’s solar eclipse, the last one was in 1979.
If you’d like to starting preparing yourself now, find out where you’ll see the eclipse best and consider booking a trip there for April 8th, 2024.
And if you bought solar glasses, keep them in a safe place. They sold out across the region prior to this week’s solar eclipse.
