Help Keep Riverview Students Safe This School Year

September will be here before we know it.

Soon, sidewalks will be busy with students heading back to school, parents walking little ones to class, and familiar morning routines returning to our neighbourhoods.

We’re looking for friendly, community-minded people to join our on-call Crossing Guard team and help keep those school-day mornings safe. It’s a simple way to make a real difference – and become a familiar face that students and families look forward to seeing.

This casual role is perfect for anyone looking to give back without committing to regular hours. When a full-time crossing guard is unavailable, you’ll be there to help ensure children get to school safely.

Interested? Our next orientation session is happening August 12th at Town Hall. Email clerk@townofriverview.ca for more information.

A few things to know:

🚦 Spare crossing guards do not work directly for the Town of Riverview.

🚦 If called, you’ll fill in for a contracted crossing guard, with payment arranged directly between you and that guard.

🚦 There is no guarantee of shifts—spares are contacted only when regular guards are unavailable.
