Residents on part of Acadie Avenue in Dieppe no longer need to boil their water after the city lifted its advisory on Wednesday.
The City of Dieppe said in a public notice that the boil water order had been issued on August 5 for homes at 200, 205, 220, 242, 250, 265, 266, 268, 269, 270, 273, 274, 278 and 286 Acadie Avenue.
The city said residents should follow Public Health’s steps for returning to normal water use.
Public Health said cold taps should be flushed for 10 to 15 minutes, and hot water should run for at least 15 minutes for a 40‑gallon tank or 30 minutes for an 80‑gallon tank or larger.
Public Health also said refrigerator water dispensers should be flushed with at least one litre of water before use.
Automatic ice makers should be emptied of ice produced during the boil water order, and any ice made over the next 24 hours should also be discarded to ensure any potentially contaminated water is cleared.
The city said anyone who notices low water pressure or discoloured water should contact Dieppe’s Water and Sewer Department at 506‑877‑7990 or call 506‑850‑5104 after business hours.
