During a few recent vacation days my wife and I decided to knock a couple of spots off our bucket list of places in New Brunswick to visit! We both have lived in New Brunswick practically are entire lives yet there are 3 places we have never visited, Deer Island, Campobello and Grand Manaan Island. We made a daytrip out of it and ventured to St. George where we hopped on a ferry to Deer Island (that’s 1 off the list), drove across the island which is quite scenic, and hopped on our next ferry which took us to Campobello Island ( that’s number 2 off the list) which is absolutely filled with beauty. I highly recommend a visit to Roosevelt Campobello International Park where for absolutely no charge, you can take a tour of the fully preserved 1920s summer cottage of the 32nd U.S. President and his family. I have shared some photos below.
Also be sure to check out Head Harbour Lightstation, one of Canada’s oldest and of course Herring Cove Provincial Park and its mile long sandy beach, perfect for hunting for sea glass.
Our province has so many wonderful places to visit, you can easily enjoy your vacation time without ever leaving “the Picture Province”. From driving the Acadian Coastline, The Fundy shores and more, our province has something for everyone.
Nest stop…. Grand Manaan!
