Moncton Walmart reopens after fire

A retail store in Moncton that was damaged by fire has now reopened.

The Walmart on Plaza Boulevard was forced to close on Monday night.

Moncton Fire arrived at around 11 pm to find pallets on fire, and the flames then spread up the back wall.

The department says the rear of the building was damaged and the inside of the store had smoke damage.

The store reopened at 7 am Thursday.

There’s no word on a cause yet. Moncton Fire Deputy Chief Keith Guptill says it is still under investigation.
