Grand Falls chosen to host 2026 New Brunswick Day events

Grand Falls has been selected to host this year’s official New Brunswick Day celebrations.

Premier Susan Holt said New Brunswick Day is a chance for people across the province to come together and celebrate what makes the province unique.

“New Brunswick Day is a time for people across the province to come together and celebrate what makes our province unique and the history that unites us,” she said in a government release.

The provincial government explained that Grand Falls was chosen after a call for proposals.

Tourism, Heritage and Culture Minister Isabelle Theriault said the town’s natural beauty and bilingual culture make it a fitting location for the event.

“Renowned for its impressive falls, natural beauty and vibrant bilingual culture, Grand Falls is the perfect location to host this year’s celebrations,” she said.

As the host community, Grand Falls will receive $30,000 to support the celebrations.

Grand Falls Regional Municipality Mayor Bertrand Beaulieu said preparations are underway to create a program that reflects the spirit of the province.

He said the municipality looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors on Aug. 3.
