Gloria Kathleen Glendinning

December 15, 1941  –  June 13, 2026

Gloria Kathleen Glendinning, 84, of Canterbury Hall in Riverview and formerly a long time resident of Fairlane Drive in Moncton; a woman known for her kindness, quiet strength and unwavering devotion to her family and faith passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday morning, June 13, 2026. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Lawson and Zora (Leighton) Fenton.

Gloria grew up with a deep appreciation for family, community and the simple joys of life. After graduating from Moncton High School, she began her career as a stenographer at The Moncton Hospital before discovering her true calling in school libraries. She volunteered for many years at Beaverbrook School and later completed her Certified Library Assistant program through UNB. She then continued her work at Harrison Trimble High School as an Assistant Librarian, welcoming students with her warm smile, gentle guidance and genuine interest in their lives.

Gloria’s faith was central to her life. For more than half a century, she was an active and cherished member of First Moncton United Baptist Church. She served quietly but faithfully, forming friendships that became like family and offering her time wherever it was needed. Whether serving with the Dryden/Gullison Missionary Group, participating in Tweenagers and Fellowship First, or helping behind the scenes in her gentle, dependable way, Gloria lived her faith through service, compassion and hospitality.

Gloria expressed her creativity through painting and her landscapes and bird scenes reflected her calm spirit and her appreciation for the beauty around her. She also had a deep love of music and was always ready to get up and dance, especially when a favourite tune began to play. She and her beloved husband Bill were inseparable. Together they gardened, square danced, travelled across Canada and the United States and enjoyed countless Sunday drives with no destination other than being together.

Her kitchen was a place of comfort for many. Gloria was known for her beautiful baking, her warm hospitality and the way she made every gathering feel special. Nothing delighted her more than time spent with her grandchildren, especially during their younger years when she could play, dance and laugh alongside them.

Gloria will be sadly missed by her loving children, Scott Glendinning (Donna) of New Glasgow, PE, Shelley Corkum (David) of Upper Coverdale, NB and Sharon Wilson (David) of Riverview, NB; her cherished grandchildren, Andrew Corkum (Samantha), Amy Lee Corkum, Nicholas Glendinning (Leah Corrigan), Ellen MacDonald (Bradley), Kathleen Wilson (Evan Hunt); precious great grandchildren, Ari Elizabeth Corkum, Forrest Augustine Glendinning, Lillianna JoLee Corkum and Lalie Anne Glendinning; brother, Robert Fenton (Prudy) of Lutes Mountain; also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many-long time friends.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth William “Bill” Glendinning (Nov.21, 2023); infant brother, Donald and brother, Vaughn Fenton (Barbara).

Family and friends are invited to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB, for visitation on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
