I started my visit with a guided tour, and it is an absolute must-do. Instead of just reading plaques on the wall, the passionate tour guides actually bring the history to life that gives you shivers the whole time. The vibe is engaging, personal, and super interactive.
You will make your way through centuries of Acadian resilience, from early days of settlement to the tragedy of deportation. They cover… EVERYTHING.
Annnnddddd, there’s a hot new feature!! The museum has an incredible permanent collection, but you need to check out the brand new temporary exhibit as well! The museum rotates these galleries to highlight specific parts of Acadian life. The current exhibit offers a fresh, modern perspective that compliments the historic main objects in the main hall. It’s so stunning and makes for some great memories:)
They also offer Summer Programs… fun for EVERYONE!! They have hands-on workshops where you can try your hand at traditional crafts, as well as kid-friendly activities that are super interactive and will definitely keep the little ones fascinated and busy, and special guest lecturers where you can learn from local historians and artists who drop by all summer long!!
