1937 – 2026

Lily Laakso passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital on Wednesday, June 4, 2026. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the late George and Almeda (Hopper) Coneen.

Lily’s career was focused mostly in accounting and she worked for several businesses’ over the years.

Lily is survived and will be missed by her daughter, Myra Roth, grand-daughter, Tracy, her nephew, Tom Coneen (Patty) and three great nieces, Amanda Coneen, Tanya and Lisa Steeves. She will also be sadly missed by her very special friend Hilda Arsenault.

In addition to her parents, Lily was predeceased by her husband, Arnold (Lax) in 2010; her grand-son, William (Billy) Roth in 2012; her brother, Albert (Ray) in 2026; her niece, Holly Diane Steeves in 2025 (Jim); her nephew, Danny Wade Coneen in 2023.

 Keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services, simply a graveside service at Lakeville Cemetery at a later date for family and close friends.

Donations can be made in Lily’s name to any local animal rescue organization.

Lily’s family would like to thank Hilda for all the love, friendship, and care she dedicated to Lily over the past few years.
