Fire damages Dieppe duplex

Fire has damaged a home on Peupliers Street in Dieppe.

When firefighters arrived at around 8:40 pm Wednesday, they found flames in the duplex attic.

Fire Chief Marc Cormier says they were able to get the fire under control in a short period of time.

Around 18 firefighters, along with three chief officers and a fire investigator, helped on the scene.

Cormier adds that the house has fire damage, particularly where it spread along the exterior. The other unit has minor fire and water damage.

Firefighters were on scene for around 90 minutes.

No one was hurt, and there’s no word on a cause yet.

Ambulance New Brunswick, Codiac RCMP, NB Power, and the Canadian Red Cross also assisted.

There’s no word on whether any residents have been displaced.
