Moncton’s Make a Move for Scleroderma event is being held on Saturday, June 13th at the Mapleton Park Rotary Pavilion. This event consists of a Run/Walk, snacks, refreshments, and other related activities. As a registered charity, funds raised are used to support those living with scleroderma, including the David Shea Fund, which financially assists those incurring expenses as a result of their disease. The kick-off begins at 1pm, with the Run/Walk following at 1:30pm.
Scleroderma is a rare chronic autoimmune disease, also known as “hard skin”, which forces the body’s immune system to attack its own tissues and may lead to hardening and tightening of the skin and damage to internal organs. Scleroderma is life altering, life threatening and without a cure. Our organization strives to assist those suffering with the disease by increasing awareness, promoting health and wellness, and raising funds for programs and patient support.
