Boil water advisory in effect for parts of Riverview

A water main break in the Canusa Drive area of Riverview has forced a boil water advisory for some businesses and residents.

The town issued the advisory on Tuesday morning.

The map below highlights the affected areas.

The town says drinking water, preparing infant formulas and juices, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking, and brushing teeth must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

It adds that it is safe for showering and bathing, but ensure you don’t swallow the water.

Handwashing is also safe, but you should use soap and scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.

The Town of Riverview will work with the Department of Health and will continue water quality testing over the next 48 hours.

Residents will be notified when the boil water order is lifted.
