John David Chisholm

1942 – 2026

John Chisholm, of Riverview, passed away at the Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on May 12, 2026. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late William and Bertha (nee Geary) Chisholm.

John was a teacher at heart both as his career, at the J.M.A. School in Salisbury, and as a coach. He was involved in sports throughout his life from playing baseball in his youth, to golfing and skiing as an adult. He also coached basketball for many years, and refereed football at all levels. He was proud to be a referee at the Vanier Cup in Toronto in the early 1990s and, in 1994, he received a Lifetime Service Award from Football New Brunswick.

He will be missed and remembered by his wife of over 56 years Faye Chisholm (nee McIntosh), daughter Raquel Chisholm (Ron Huse), grandson Ethan Huse, sister Carol David and several nieces and nephews.

Aside from his parents, John was predeceased by his sister Beth.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd Riverview (506-869-2007). In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory can be made to either the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or the War Amps of Canada.
