The entire province was placed under a full burn ban Wednesday afternoon.
According to the provincial government’s Fire Watch page, all counties were closed for burning as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Those conditions are in place until at least 2 p.m. Thursday, when the next update will occur.
According to the Department of Natural Resources public fires dashboard, there were two small fires in York County as of Wednesday afternoon.
Both were listed as “patrolled,” meaning the fire is contained with all breaks or wet lines. There’s little or no fire activity, there may be some smoke, but there’s no chance of fire jumping or escaping.
Those two fires cover an area of about 2.1 hectares.
