Marilyn Bertha Morrell, 86, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Marilyn is now with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mildred (Horsman) Lutes.
Marilyn was an employee of the Moncton Hospital with 40 years of service. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. Marilyn was a faithful, resilient and loving woman who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marilyn showed great empathy and she loved helping others. Marilyn’s kindness was an inspiration to all.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her husband, Clarence Morrell; son, Gregory Morrell; daughter, Toby Morrell; grandson, Carter (Avery); granddaughter, Janika; great-grandson, Abel; sister, Sandra Lutes (late James); brothers, Donald Lutes (Nellie) (late Nelly), David Lutes (Dawn), Clair Lutes (Pam) and Rennie Lutes; brothers-in-law, Fred Morrell (Janet) and Allen Morrell (Sandra); special friends, Judy Cohen, Lois Lutes and Nellie Simpson; as well as many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her sister, Gayle Lutes; daughter-in-law Charlene Morrell; and special friends Marlene Crandall and Linda Hodgson.
In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at Horsman Cemetery at a later date.
