The family of John (Ian) Scott Dymond, of Moncton, NB is saddened to announce he passed away peacefully at Albert House Moncton, on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at the age of 81 years.
Born in Scotland, September 12, 1944 in a small cottage he was the son of an amazing woman, Grace Blacklock. John was a loving Husband, Father, Grandad, Great-grandad, brother, uncle, and friend.
John married his soul mate and love of his life Kathleen in 1964. They had their first child, a daughter Karen in 1966 and a second child, a son Scott in 1969. In 1972 they all immigrated to Canada.
John was employed by Maple Leaf Foods on St Clair Avenue in Toronto from 1972 to 2009. After his retirement he joined the Board of Directors for Maple Leaf Group. He was the current President.
John was a family man and loved spending time with us. Dad loved his football (soccer), a passion he shared with his son. To Dad… nothing was more important than family. He loved listening to the birds and puttering outside in his garden. Dad was an avid outdoors man in his younger years. Fishing, Hiking, Boating, Canoeing, Portaging, which he shared with his family. John loved to travel with his wife and celebrated their 60th Anniversary in Hawaii.
John will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen, his daughter Karen (Yves); His cherished grandchildren Gabrielle, Nadine (Matthew), Miranda, Allyson & John; His precious great granddaughter Violet; His Sisters Sylvia and Pearl and Brothers Raymond, Ronald and Brian; several nieces, nephews and many extended family members across Canada and the world.
In addition to his mother, John was predeceased by his son Scott and his brother Hamilton.
To honour John’s wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton (506-858-1995).
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Scotland and in Canada.
