N. Penny Watling

March 18, 1939  –  April 17, 2026

The family of Norah Penny (Parsons) Watling are saddened to announce her peaceful passing at her residence, Pavillion Landry, Moncton, on Friday, April 17, 2026. With her daughter Betsy by her side. Born in London, Ontario in 1939, she was daughter of the late Sallie (Gillespie) and Bruce Parsons.

Penny was a cracker-jack executive secretary and worked in many sectors of the auto industry as well as in oil and gas, from the Maritimes to the western provinces. She wrapped up her career at the Diabetic Education Centre at the Hants Regional Hospital in Windsor, NS. Those who knew Penny would have appreciated her genuine wit and humour.

Penny is survived by her daughter Sally Elizabeth (Betsy) Stevenson, her sisters Sue Murray (Don) of Moncton, Nancy Philley (Rich) of South Surrey, BC and Claire Parsons of Moncton.

Also, her grandsons Matthew (Ashley) of NS, Grayson (Mandy) AB and granddaughter Melissa (Ryan), NS. She is also survived by great granddaughter Brooke, AB, many nieces and nephews, Special friend Faye Dearsley, Ontario and cherished Watling family.

Along with her parents she is predeceased by her husband the late Brian Watling, her son the late Graham, her grandson Derek, her sisters Barbara, Sallie and MeKay.

In keeping with Penny’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Family social in her honour will be held late May. Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) in care of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be sent to your local animal shelter, in honour of Penny’s love of all four-legged creatures.
