If you know, you know… and if you don’t, consider this your official warning: you’re about to plan a road trip.
The summer of 2024 I went full detective mode, 40 restaurants in 60 days, all in the name of finding the best lobster roll in Southeast New Brunswick. Tough job, I know. After all the butter, buns, and borderline seafood-induced naps… one spot stood above the rest.
Spinney’s in Saint Martins. Number ONE. 🏆
And guess what? They opened back up April 24th, which basically means summer has been given the green light in the Maritimes.
Let’s talk about why this place hits different.
First, Sandy. Absolute legend. She chased the dream, went all in, and built something special. But here’s where it gets ridiculous, when they started, her husband is a lobster fisherman. Not “we get it fresh from a supplier” fresh… I’m talking caught, docked, and brought straight into the kitchen fresh. We’re talking early mornings where lobsters are being cracked before the sun even clocks in.
Today, they have outgrown her husband’s boat but still get fresh lobster and you can literally still find them in the back, chucking lobsters every morning.
Fresh cracked lobster? Check.

Now the roll itself…
This isn’t one of those “where’s the lobster?” situations. Nope. You’re getting a FULL lobster packed into a perfectly fluffy bun. The ratio? Elite. The sauce? Simple, clean, and lets that sweet Atlantic lobster shine like it deserves.
No gimmicks. No distractions. Just straight-up Maritime perfection.
And here’s the kicker, when I named Spinney’s my #1 lobster roll… the very next day they sold over 350 rolls. After that? Busy all summer long. Coincidence? I’ll let you decide.
So yeah… it’s about a 1.5-hour drive from Moncton. But that drive into Saint Martins? Coastal views, fresh air, windows down… it’s part of the experience.
Honestly, there’s no better way to kick off spring turning into summer than your first lobster roll of the season… and if you’re doing it right, you’re doing it at Spinney’s.
Just don’t wait too long — locals already know.
