High fuel costs are impacting Air Transat flights.
The company announced on Wednesday that it will cut six per cent of its routes to Europe and the Caribbean between May and October.
“The recent volatility in aviation fuel prices reflects an exceptional environment affecting the entire sector. We are closely monitoring the situation, as cost pressures continue to be felt across the industry. Additional measures may be implemented depending on how the situation evolves, beyond our control,” said Annick Guérard, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Affected customers will be notified, and alternative travel options will be offered.
Officials at the YSJ Saint John Airport and the YQM Greater Moncton Romeo Leblanc International Airport say they will not be affected by changes to the schedule.
