Loretta Arsenault

1938 ~ 2026

It is with deep sadness, surrounded by her family, that we announce the passing of Loretta Arsenault of Cocagne, aged 87, on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the St-Antoine nursing home.

Born in St-Antoine, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Adélard and Anna (LeBlanc) Cormier.

She is survived by her beloved partner of 65 years, Evérard (Walter) Arsenault, her two sons, Yvon (Dianne Williams) and René (Miville Tremblay), and her daughter Line (Jean-Luc Pellerin). She is also survived by her four beloved grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas, Erica, and Alexandre, as well as three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ronald Arsenault (Léola) of Hudson, MA, and her two sisters-in-law, Dorine (late Ronnie Arsenault) of Natick, MA, and Mérelda Goguen (Francis) of Moncton, NB, as well as several nephews and nieces.

Her beloved daughter Joelle (1969), who passed away at the age of only 5, her brothers, Alcide, Léo (Ovila), Laurie, Ronald (Alonzo), Raoul; his sisters, Marie, Stella, Dorise, and Yvette (Huberte); as well as his brothers-in-law, Alphérie and Valerie, and his sisters-in-law, Gloria, Yvette, and Francine, have all preceded her in death.

A devoted caregiver, she was a true guardian angel to her patients. Loretta dedicated her life to caring for others with infinite gentleness and exemplary devotion, notably at the Foyer Ste-Thérèse in Cocagne, the Foyer on Shediac Road (which she owned for the last two years of her career), Stella Maris Hospital in Kent, George-L-Dumont Hospital, and, prior to her retirement, the Foyer de St-Antoine. Her vocation was her guiding light, and her compassion a precious comfort to all.

Loretta enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and watching hockey with her partner. She was an excellent knitter and loved painting and playing 200.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Foyer de St-Antoine for the excellent care they provided to Loretta.

Visitation will be held at Saint-Pierre de Cocagne Slumber Room, 2000 Route 535, Cocagne, NB, on Wednesday, April 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. only. The funeral mass will be held the same day at Saint-Pierre de Cocagne Church at 7:00 p.m.
