September 29, 1947  –  March 29, 2026

Eric was predeceased by his father James Smith and Inez Jean (Campbell) Smith, his brother Charles Raymond Smith; his father-in-law Norman Joseph Besav and his mother-in-law Mary Rose Besav.

Eric leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years Cecilia (Besav); his two sons Stephen Charles Smith and Andrew James Smith; he will also be missed by his brother and sister-in-laws: Bernard-Violet, Pius-Diana, Bill–Patricia, Norman-Deborah, John-Mary, Gerard-Carla, Rose Marie, Rex-Mike and Sharon Lambert-Chris; as well as many nieces, nephews.

Eric cherished his family and friends very much, he looked forward to the holiday seasons as well as family holidays together. Travel was another great passion of Eric’s, he and Cecilia made many trips to Europe, Carribean-US and a few trips to Africa.

Eric’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff in the ICU and the NICU at the Moncton Hospital for the great and compassionate care he received prior to his passing.

In following with Eric’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are entrusted into the professional care of Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Rd Moncton, NB (506-858-1995).
