Bouctouche, NB – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hervé (Gacon) Caissie, aged 80, who passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at the Stella-Maris Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent.

He was the husband of the late Louisa Caissie (née LeBlanc) (2017) and the son of the late Edgar Caissie and the late Elizabeth Caissie.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Denise Hébert (Paul-Emile), Claudette Caissie (Roger) and Claude Caissie (Nancy) all of Bouctouche. He also leaves his grandchildren: Sylvie, Jeremy, Vanessa, Monica and Ghislain as well as great-grandchildren: Olivia, Cedrik, Félix, Jacob, Jasmine, Zacharie and Xavier.

He also leaves his brothers: Daniel (Chelou) (Bernadette) Caissie of Irishtown and Gérald Caissie both of Bouctouche, a brother-in-law Roger Mills (Tian) and two sisters-in-law, Eveline Caissie and Aurea Caissie also several nieces and nephews and friends.

Hervé was a painter by trade, a man who loved nature and feeding the animals around the house, he was an all-around handyman.

Besides his wife and his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Edna, Marianne, Marguerite, Dorilla and Diane, his brothers: Jean-Paul (Pitou), Edouard, Joseph and Raymond.

Visitation will be held at Passage-Maillet in Bouctouche on Friday, April 10 from 1pm to 3h30 pm Funeral mass will be at the Saint-Jean Baptiste Church at 4 pm.

The family would like to thank Dr Pierre LeBlanc, the nurses and the entire staff at the Stella-Maris hospital for the care given to Hervé during his stay.
