Riverview Maple Fest Might Be the Sweetest Weekend of the Year 🍁

If there’s one thing New Brunswicker’s do right, it’s maple season—and Riverview Maple Fest proves it.

Happening March 27–29, this festival is basically a full-on celebration of everything maple. We’re talking local businesses, sugar camps, hands-on experiences, and more sweet treats than you can realistically eat in a weekend (but that won’t stop us from trying).

And let me tell you… I took that challenge seriously.

First stop—Tambayan Café. They’re serving up something called a Maple Crawfle, and yeah… it’s exactly as unreal as it sounds. A croissant pressed in a waffle iron until it’s crispy on the outside, buttery on the inside, then topped with homemade cream and local maple syrup. It’s flaky, rich, sweet—and honestly one of those bites where you just stop and go “okay wow.” This is the kind of creativity Maple Fest is all about.

Then we rolled into Buddha Bear Coffee Roasters for a drink that screams cozy spring vibes. Their maple mocha is next level—smooth chocolate, bold coffee, and finished with local maple sugar. It’s topped with marshmallows and a drizzle that makes it feel like a campfire treat in a cup. Perfect balance of sweet and comforting.

And just when you think you’ve peaked… nope.

Over at Sushi Sapporo, they’re flipping the script with a homemade maple madeleine. Light, fluffy, slightly crisp on the outside with that rich maple flavour baked right in. Simple, but done perfectly—and honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want after going all-in on the bigger desserts.

What makes Maple Fest really stand out though is how it blends food with experience. You can hit up maple brunches, take tours of sugar camps, grab taffy on the snow, or just bounce around town trying all the limited-time specials. There’s something for everyone—families, foodies, and anyone just looking for a great excuse to get out and explore.

And the best part? Over 25 local businesses are getting involved with maple-inspired features you won’t find any other time of year.

So here’s the move: come hungry, wear stretchy pants, and plan a route.

And trust me… you’re going to want seconds.
