Violet Mae Steeves (née Carr) passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born in Woodstock, New Brunswick on July 18, 1948, Violet was the daughter of Neil Carr and Gladys Carr (née Morey), later Dickinson.
Violet will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Douglas Steeves. She was a devoted mother to Blaine (Leslie) Steeves and Jeff Steeves, and a beloved grandmother to Riley Steeves and Jacie Steeves.
She is also survived by her brothers, Eugene “Sparky” (Judy) Carr, Raymond (Lois) Carr and Robert (Bea) Dickinson. Violet will also be fondly remembered by close friends and family members Neil (Mary) and Kyla Carr, Bert, Mary and Kookie Sewell, Debbie, Phil and Megan Goudreau, and Beverly Steeves-Dixon.
Besides her parents, Violet was predeceased by her brother, Philip (Rita) Dickinson.
Violet will be remembered for her love of family and the many memories she shared with those closest to her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, NB, for visitation on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations in Violet’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
