Jacques Thériault

1959~2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacques Thériault on March 9, 2026, at his home, at the age of 66.

Originally from Paquetville, New Brunswick, Jacques was the beloved son of the late Fernand Thériault and the late Albina Thériault.

He leaves behind his two daughters, whom he loved deeply, Marie-Andrée (Luc) and Stéphanie, as well as his cherished granddaughter, Livia. He is also survived by his brother Laurent (Glenna) and his brother and best friend Roger (Linda), along with his nieces and nephews Natalie, Denise, Martin, Janice, Nadine, and Matthieu, his great-niece Nessa, and many friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

Jacques dedicated 32 years of his career to Radio-Canada Acadie, where he worked with great devotion as a film and video editor. A proud advocate of the French language and culture, he had a deep love for music and the arts and took immense pride in Acadian culture. He was always enthusiastic about supporting the artists and musicians within his community.

Known for his remarkable sense of humor, Jacques had a natural gift for making people laugh and bringing smiles to those around him. He was a talented, passionate, and artistic man whose creativity seemed limitless. He expressed himself through many forms of art, including painting (Tintin), sewing, drawing, and woodworking. In everything he undertook, he always strived for excellence.

A teacher at heart, Jacques greatly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and passions with others, especially with his daughters. He also appreciated the simple joys of life: gardening, reading, watching films and documentaries, camping, riding his ATV, cooking, and baking.

Jacques will forever remain in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

In his honour, a commemorative service open to the public will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at

Passage Funeral Cooperative, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, New Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Aberdeen Cultural Centre in support of Francophone artists, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
