Messy weather for midweek in N.B.

You can expect some slippery conditions for your drive home on Wednesday and Thursday.

There’s a continued threat of mixed precipitation in the forecast.

Special weather statements remain in effect, with snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain.

Environment Canada meteorologist Jill Maepea says the area from Saint Stephen to Saint John is likely to face mostly rain, whereas when you move into the Sussex and Moncton areas, it will be more freezing rain.

She says they expect the worst of the system to hit northern New Brunswick.

Environment Canada says there’s still some uncertainty about the exact track of this low-pressure system, but they are continuing to monitor.

They warn there is the potential for 10 to 18 hours of freezing rain between Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
