The Garlic Fingers That Broke My Algorithm

Last year I asked my followers a simple question:
Who has the best garlic fingers?

You did not disappoint.

After hundreds of comments and passionate debates (seriously, people take garlic fingers personally around here), I narrowed it down to the Top 5 spots and set out on a mission. Taste. Compare. Crown a winner.

And by a mile — not a photo finish, not a debate — Tide & Boar Brewing took it.

If you’ve never had their garlic fingers, let me paint the picture. Deep dish. Loaded with cheese. Crispy edges. Soft, pull-apart center. The kind of garlic fingers where the cheese stretch deserves its own slow-motion replay. It’s comfort food turned all the way up.

That video? It went viral on TikTok. And to this day, if you search “Garlic Fingers,” it’s still one of the top videos that pops up. Imagine explaining to your family that your claim to fame is internet garlic bread. I’m fine with it.

But here’s the thing — Tide & Boar isn’t just a one-hit wonder.

Their specialty pizzas are constantly rotating, which means there’s always something new to try. They don’t just stick to the classics; they experiment, they push flavour, and somehow it always works. You can go in thinking you’re ordering garlic fingers (you are), and leave planning your next visit because the feature pizza caught your eye.

And we need to talk about the smash burgers

Hands down, some of my favourites in the city. Crispy edges, juicy centre, perfectly balanced toppings. It’s the kind of burger you finish and immediately consider ordering another — not because you’re still hungry, but because you don’t want the experience to end.

Beer? Obviously. It’s a brewery. And they do it well. Pair that with pizza, burgers, and the best garlic fingers in town, and you’ve basically built the perfect night out.

This is why I love letting the community decide sometimes. I can have opinions — but when hundreds of locals rally behind one spot and it delivers like that? That’s special.

Tide & Boar didn’t just win a taste test. They won the internet.

And honestly? If you’ve had those garlic fingers, you already know why. 🍕🍔🍺
