Time Warp Promotions Presents
Newfoundland-born singer Laurie Lynn began playing country music at the age of 9, first at the Corner Brook Arts and Culture Centre.
Coming from a family that listened to country music from dusk to dawn and beyond, Lynn felt totally connected to Dolly Parton as an individual and to her lyrics as a connection to her life. During her childhood and adolescence, she performed on countless stages in western Newfoundland before leaving the province. After raising her children, she returned to the stage, but this time, paying homage to her childhood idol, Dolly Parton.
“It didn’t matter what song I sang, it could have been Willie Nelson, people always said, you look like Dolly.” Laurie Lynn often remarked that her authentic vibrato voice sounded remarkably similar to Dolly’s, and that her small figure and witty humor portrayed her naturally.
“I’m a dreamer, so to be able to perform on stage and pay tribute to what I consider to be the greatest female legend in country music, it’s really a dream come true, it makes my heart skip a beat.”
Laurie Lynn is now an international tribute artist to Dolly Parton, performing across Canada, the United States and Mexico.
If you’re looking for an energetic and joyful performance, which captures the essence of Dolly, Smoky Mountain Songbird will provide you with a nostalgic moment and entertain you deeply.
