It has been a couple of months since Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Moncton announced it was in desperate financial shape and feared closing its doors.
But the organization has launched a new Match Maker campaign which asks groups or businesses to make a donation which will help in the cost of mentoring matches between adults and children.
Executive director Peter MacDonald says the agency has been receiving some community support lately.
“Really money has been slowly trickling in. We’ve had some great community partners step up and have helped us get where we are today and still be alive and kicking” he notes.
MacDonald says the agency is still at risk financially but he’s optismistic the Match Maker campaign will help turn things around.
