Pedestrian struck in Richibucto hit-and-run

A weekend hit-and-run in Richibucto is under investigation by police.

Mounties say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 near Exit 42.

Officers were called to the scene at around 2 a.m. Saturday, police said in a release.

“The vehicle was also believed to be travelling southbound at the time of the incident and failed to remain at the scene,” said the release.

The victim was taken to the hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP said a description of the vehicle is not available at this time.
